STANSTED GO-AHEAD SETS WORRYING PRECEDENT FOR NEW TRANSPORT SECRETARY - KRAMER

3.39.58pm UTC (GMT +0000) Fri 10th Oct 2008

Commenting on the news that the new Transport Secretary Geoff Hoon has given the green light to Stansted expansion, Susan Kramer MP said:

"This sets a worrying precedent for the decision on expansion at Heathrow, and shows that the change of Transport Secretary does not seem to have given us a more sympathetic ear in Government."

"It is time the Government listened to the chorus of voices speaking out against expansion, and took its own commitment to protect the environment seriously."

"I and all the protesters around the country who are opposed to airport expansion will continue to fight to get the Government to see sense."
