Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather has met with local residents and the Dudden Hill Safer Neighbourhood Team to improve safety at the Mulgrave Road footbridge at Gladstone Park.

The bridge is one of the top robbery hot spots in Brent. Sarah has spoken to the police about increasing patrols in the area, and following her intervention the police are carrying out a full safety assessment on the bridge and surrounding area.

Sarah will then be putting pressure on Network Rail, who own the bridge, to implement the police's recommendations.

Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather said:

"The Mulgrave Road footbridge is one of Brent's crime hot spots. Many local residents have to use the bridge to get home, and it's totally unacceptable that they should feel vulnerable when doing so.

"I will continue to lobby the police for more patrols. Meanwhile, those who use the bridge should remain vigilant on the walk from Dollis Hill station and report any suspicious behaviour which may help the police in their investigations..

"The Safer Neighbourhood Team do a great job but need support. Network Rail must take my constituents' fears seriously and step up their commitment to protecting local people. We all need to work together to make our local area safer."
