Sutton's Pupils Get Connected at Sutton Connexions Careers Fair - Brake12.59.35pm UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 5th Nov 2007 On Thursday 1st November 2007, Tom Brake MP attended the Sutton Connexions Career Fair at the Sutton Holiday Inn. This is the first careers fair that has been held in the area in eight years. Tom said, "Careers, education and volunteering advice is invaluable as pupils are trying to work out where they want to go next. It is clear that this Careers Fair - there was hardly space to move in the main exhibition hall - had advice in abundance and hundreds of pupils keen to take advantage of it." The fair provided attendees with a chance to expand their careers, education or volunteering horizons. Numerous groups and organisations attended the fair such as: Carshalton College, London General Transport, Sutton Council, Millennium Volunteers and Sutton and District Training. Along with Tom Brake MP, Greenshaw and John Fisher Schools were the first to arrive at the fair. Tom Brake is hoping that the careers fair will become an annual event after its eight year hiatus. Tom Brake also wanted to extend a special 'thank you' to the Learning and Skills Council for funding the careers fair.
