Brent and Camden Must Work Together In Crime Fight - Teather2.51.31pm UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 22nd Oct 2007
Local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather has joined local police and Safer Neighbourhood Teams on Kilburn High Road to raise awareness of the steps the public can take to protect themselves against crime. Kilburn High Road is split between two London boroughs - Brent and Camden. Sarah is urging police from both boroughs, as well Brent and Camden Councils, to work closely together for the benefit of local residents. Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather said: "I was pleased to join local police to talk to people about ways to reduce crime in Brent. We can all take steps to keep ourselves safe - such as shopping in groups, keeping valuables hidden, or avoiding dark alleyways. "It has traditionally been hard to police Kilburn High Road because the street is split between two London boroughs. It's therefore great to see police from both boroughs working closely together to make local people safer." Notes: (1) The activites on Kilburn High Road were part of "Not In My Neighbourhood Week".
