Tom Brake Teams Up with Beddington Park Primary School
5.05.00pm GMT Fri 22nd Jun 2007
Tom Brake MP for Carshalton and Wallington will be joining Beddington Park Primary School staff, pupils and ASDA staff on the morning of Monday 25th of June 2007 on a walk to the nearby ASDA store. The group is scheduled to reach the ASDA (Marlowe Wy, Croydon, Surrey, CR0 4XS) store at 10am.
Tom, will be helping to launch a joint congestion-busting project between Beddington Park Primary School and ASDA.
The initiative is designed to stop traffic congestion in front of the school which is a major issue. Parents will now be able to park in the ASDA car park and walk their children the remainder of the way to the school. This will both alleviate the traffic and encourage a healthier lifestyle.
In the future, it is proposed that ASDA will continue to contribute to the school by coming to the school and educating the children on issues such as healthy eating and well-being.
Toby Cooke, Headmaster for Beddington Park says, "I am delighted that Tom Brake MP, has been able to support our school in its commitment to eco friendly travel and healthy lifestyles"
"This is a wonderful example of the collaboration possible between businesses and schools to promote healthier environments in our community. I am delighted to take part" Tom Brake MP.
