Burstow visits Cheam Park Farm to witness world's longest walking bus

Paul Burstow, MP for Sutton and Cheam, was an official witness last Wednesday as 101 children from Cheam Park Farm Infants and Nursery School joined in a bid to set a new world record for the longest walking bus.

The children - 5 and 6 year olds from the year 1 class - walked the streets of Cheam as part of a national effort to have as many walking buses in action as possible at one time. The event was organised by the road safety charity BRAKE to promote safe and sustainable school travel.

Commenting on the children's efforts, Paul Burstow MP said:

"Walking to school benefits the health of young people while providing valuable lessons about the impact that car travel can have on the environment."

"The record attempt is an excellent way to raise awareness of walking buses as a safe way to gain these benefits."
