Police at a local station in Haringey now have to pay parking fees of up to £200 per year to park for work. Officers based at the Nightingale Road Police Station moved to a new facility in Turnpike Lane two weeks ago meaning that they will have to park in a Council run Car Park at their own cost. Lib Dems say that the Council should have been more flexible in providing parking for the Police to operate at the heart of the community.

Cllr Fiyaz Mughal (Noel Park ward) comments:

"The Council should work with the police and be more flexible. The Police are a vital and dedicated service and deserve to be provided with adequate facilities."

Notes:

The Police have to park in Bury Road car park at a charge of £120 per annum - this will change to £200 after the 1 st July 2007.
