MP Backs Bid For New Community Hall In Kingston Vale

1.54.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 17th Apr 2007

A National Lottery bid to help build Robin Hood Hall in Kingston Vale has received the backing of local MP Susan Kramer.

In a letter of support she says:

"This area is in great need of a community centre. There are currently very few facilities available - the two local pubs have shut down and local shops are closing down at an alarming rate.

"An existing village hall and church hall are too small to meet the needs of the community and the 22 groups that currently use them.

"While Kingston is regarded as relatively wealthy, this particular part of the borough serves three local estates.

"Robin Hood Hall would be multi - faith and help to serve as a crucial community meeting point for residents of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds."
