Burstow unanimously reselected for Sutton and Cheam6.34.39pm UTC (GMT +0000) Wed 21st Feb 2007 Paul Burstow, MP for Sutton and Cheam, has spoken of his ongoing commitment to serving the residents of Belmont, Cheam, Stoneleigh, Sutton and Worcester Park after being unanimously re-selected as the Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for the constituency. Mr Burstow was reselected at a meeting of Sutton Liberal Democrats, held at Granfers Hall on 15th February. Speaking after the meeting, Mr Burstow said: "I am delighted to have been chosen by my fellow Liberal Democrats to be their representative at the next General Election." "It has been a great honour to represent the area where I grew up for the last 10 years." "I look forward to the challenges and rewards of continuing to represent the needs of people here - by fighting for the future of our health service, our schools and our policing - for many years to come."
