MP Welcomes Nadia Eweida's Victory in BA Cross Dispute

1.38.29pm UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 22nd Jan 2007

British Airways have at last agreed to reinstate local resident, Nadia Eweida, and to change their rules to give (specified) approval for those who wish to display a Christian cross to do so.

Vincent Cable MP has supported Ms Eweida throughout the case said that he "was delighted that BA has now seen sense. This was a confrontation which could have been avoided and has seriously damaged BA's reputation. Considerable credit is due to Nadia who showed courage in fighting the case when her job was on the line. She has had strong support in Parliament, from the Church and her Union, the TGWU and the right course of action is now being taken belatedly."
