Susan Kramer MP in Bearskin Protest

Susan Kramer MP wants the Queen's Guard to change from bearskins to fake fur to help protect the planet's wildlife. She took part in a PETA ( People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) event at Parliament to highlight the fact that it takes the entire skin of up to two black bears to make one guard's headpiece.

Wearing a fake fur headpiece made by fashion students she said that in the 21st century there was no excuse for using ceremonial hats made of animal skins.
