Local MP Edward Davey was delighted to present prizes to all those that had won a prize in their age category in his Christmas Card Competition, on Saturday at, Café Chaud on Platform 1 at Surbiton Station. Edward Davey, Liberal Democrat MP for Kingston and Surbiton, was delighted to meet all the winners of his 7th Christmas Card Competition. This was the first year that the competition had been extended to youth groups, who took up the challenge of this year's theme "Christmas in Kingston and Surbiton" in their droves, with nearly five hundred young people entering the competition this year. Edward Davey was delighted to meet the overall winner of this year's winner Sophie Goodwin, aged 10, who attends St. Matthew's C of E Primary School. Sophie's design is currently being sent to two thousand people around the country as Edward's official card. Sophie, along with her parents, will also be joining Edward Davey for tea at the House of Commons, in the New Year. Edward Davey MP said, "I always enjoy meeting the talented youth of Kingston and Surbiton, who amaze me with the time and effort that goes into each design. "Every year, thanks to the talented young people of Kingston and Surbiton, my Christmas cards always get pride and place on hundreds of mantelpieces around the country, and this year with Sophie's colourful design of Kingston Bridge, it will be no different. "Sophie's design encapsulates my wish that everyone has a Merry Christmas."
