Vincent Cable MP made a early morning visit to Hampton and Twickenham Sorting Offices on Friday to meet workers preparing for local Christmas deliveries.

"I always make a point of going to the Sorting Offices at Christmas" said Vincent Cable. "It is a worthwhile tradition for MPs, which I want to keep up. It is a way of expressing appreciation to the postmen and women who work antisocial hours to get the post out. The Royal Mail has been through difficult times in recent years with big losses and job cuts. But is has stabilised and is now launching a worker share ownership scheme like John Lewis and Waitrose."
