Brake Put on the Spot by Culvers House Primary School Pupils

6.00.55am GMT Mon 9th Oct 2006

Tom Brake MP was the star guest at the Culvers House Primary School Assembly on Friday 6th October in Hackbridge.

After congratulating the pupils on their Harvest Festival collection for the local church, the great turnout for 'Jeans for Genes' day and the superb efforts made by pupils to see their local playground, Orchard Avenue, re-instated, Tom Brake launched into a 'Question and Answer' session.

During the session he was asked who the second most important MP in the House of Commons was (he answered Gordon Brown) and who the least important was (he declined to reply!).

Tom said, "The pupils had no hesitation in asking some really difficult questions. And they knew all about MPs and their responsibilities."
