METRONET BOSS SACKING 'JUST A SHUFFLING OF DECKCHAIRS ON THE TITANIC'

9.02.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Wed 13th Apr 2005

Commenting on the removal of the boss of Metronet to be replaced by the chief operating officer from Jarvis, Liberal Democrat London Assembly Transport Spokesperson, Lynne Featherstone, said:-

"Metronet's Board have at long last realised what London's long suffering Tube passengers could have told them months ago. Metronet's performance has been appalling.

" However, this is nothing more than a shuffling of the deckchairs on the Titanic. Metronet should now withdraw from this ill fated and expensive PPP fiasco and Transport for London should be allowed to take Metronet's responsibilities in house."
