Make sure your vote counts

London Liberal Democrat Spokesperson Sarah Teather MP has today urged local residents to make sure they have their say at the next General Election. If the General Election is called for 5th May, which is what all the commentators expect, only people on the electoral roll by 11 March will be able to vote. That means there is less than one month left to register.

Anyone who thinks they are not on the electoral roll at their home address can get a form and download it from www.aboutmyvote.co.uk and then return to their local authority.

Local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather said:

"It's so important that people have their say in how they want their area represented. Voting is one of the most important rights we have in modern society, many people fought long and hard to get the right to vote. If you have no vote, you have no voice. I would urge all Londoners to make sure they are registered to vote."
