Simon calls for a St David parade for London

Speaking on St David's Day, Liberal Democrat London Mayoral candidate Simon Hughes promised to introduce Welsh celebrations to match those of the celebrations of other national holidays in London.

Simon said:-

"It is time for the Mayor of London to sort out celebrations for all the Home nations and this includes a St David's Day parade. It is simply not good enough for Mr Livingstone to organise a St Patrick parade but ignore, St David, or indeed St Andrew or St George.

"St David must not be neglected. If elected Mayor, I have pledged to ensure that all the nations of the United Kingdom have a properly organised celebration of their national day."
